Whale Watching at Cerritos Beach

When it comes to taking a vacation, along with relaxing and decompressing from the worries and stress of work, there is one other thing you tend to want to happen during your time off. You want to experience something you wouldn’t experience anywhere else…something unique and exciting and something that is going to take your breath away. With your vacation time being limited and something you may have been looking forward to for months, you want to make your time unforgettable and something you can treasure for years to come.

At Cerritos Beach, that is exactly you will walk away with. Cerritos Beach is a playground for whales, making it an ultimate place for a whale watching experience. Whale watching season begins in November and continues through April. If you find yourself in Cerritos Beach during those months, you are in for a cherished treat. Every year, ten thousand gray whales start arriving after a long and slow journey from the cold waters of Alaska to the warm waters along the peninsula. And boy, do they put on a show for their observers when they finally reach their destination.

Watching thirty-six ton, fifty-two foot-long whales breaching, slapping their tails and puffing out their blowholes is an amazing thrill! If this is what you are looking for, then look no further than Cerritos Beach Inn. Many visitors boast the experience and even have stories of being able to touch the whales right from their excursion boats! Whale watching will be one adventure that you will not soon forget.

Swimming at a pace of just five mph from Alaska, it takes them nearly four months to make it to their newfound home for the next several months. With the pregnant females taking lead, they slowly make their way to a much warmer climate where they will mate and eventually give birth to their newborn calves.

To experience the spectacular whale watching at Cerritos Beach, there are boat excursions ready to head out and help you enjoy witnessing these extraordinary creatures of the sea. Our roof top deck will deliver some of the best whale watching experiences.

My family and I are still living in the States, but fell in love with Cerritos Beach 5 years ago. After searching for a way to be able to spend more time on Cerritos Beach, we found Jim’s project (Cerritos Beach Inn) while going for a run on the beach. Jump forward 2 years and the partnership came together to complete Cerritos Beach Inn. Google+
