If you love a good festival every now and then, be sure to plan your trip to Cerritos Beach during one of the many fun festivals taking place throughout the year. From arts, films, reggae and mango themed festivals, the variety is quite diverse, inviting a wide range of people and communities from all over. Just a few minutes drive from Cerritos Beach, you will find Todos Santos where most of the biggest festivals in the area are held.
For music lovers, the Todos Santos Music Festival that takes place in the middle of January for nearly two weeks will be sure to not disappoint. The festival began only a few years back in 2012 and has continued since then to be one of the biggest events on the town’s calendar. Bands as well as individual artists draw in crowds to the town square concert. The famous Hotel California hosts the performances throughout the week which offers a perfect intimate outdoor venue for a night filled with dancing and singing along to the music. Along with it being a great event, an even greater aspect to these two weeks is that all proceeds from the festival go to the Palapa Society of Todos Santos, a local charity that focuses on providing education for both children and adults. You really cannot go wrong when attending this fun-filled festival!
Another huge hit among visitors is the Todos Santos Art Festival taking place usually in early February. Lasting one full week, craftspeople come in to display their handicrafts and creations for the entire town to see. During this festival, you can also find dance performances in the town square during the day as well as a musical performance when the night hits. This week is a celebration of fun and a chance to showcase the talents of local artists from around the region.
For wine lovers and foodies who happen to be in the area during end of April, they won’t want to miss GastroVino Food and Wine Festival De Todos Santos. This year will be the fifth annual festival located in the Public Plaza. Each year is a little different the one in 2015 showcased a dozen of Mexico’s Best Wineries and 20 local restaurants. The festival will have live music, silent auction and an assortment of delicious food and of course a variety of great wines. Much like many festivals held in Todos Santos, the proceeds of the silent auction benefits a local internship for kids.
